For the following couple of years Workman was stuck in an unfortunate situation

history channel documentary 2016 For the following couple of years Workman was stuck in an unfortunate situation with the law. In 1932, he was captured for conveying a covered weapon. In 1933, he was captured again to deck an on leave cop after a minor movement dust-up. At the same time, his claim to fame was killing whomever Lepke said should have been killed. After a hit was done, Workman appreciated the incidental advantage of "clearing out the pockets" of his casualties. The majority of the times, Workman earned himself an additional thousand dollars or so for his endeavors, and one time he even found a ten thousand dollar reward in the jeans pocket of some poor sucker he had recently whacked.

In 1935, orders descended from up top that insane person criminal Dutch Schultz needed to go. Lepke chose that Workman was the man for the occupation. On Oct. 23, 1935, Lepke sent Workman and Lepke's second-in-control Mendy Weiss to the Palace Chophouse in Newark, New Jersey, in an auto driven by a man known as "Piggy." While Weiss remained close to the bar, Workman strolled into the men's space to ensure there would be no witnesses. Remaining in the men's room was a startled Dutch Schultz. Worker connected Schultz once to the middle, puncturing his stomach, digestive organ, nerve badder and liver. Worker then left the lavatory, and he and Weiss entered the back room of the eatery, where three of Schultz' cohorts, Lulu Rosencrantz, Abe Landau and Abbadabba Berman, were making the most of their last dinner together. Weiss and Workmen continued shooting until their weapons were vacant, and their prey were dead on the floor.
